Ever since Bio-Rad made a hilarious music video to promote their DNA-copying machines, other lab equipment companies have struggled to create similar viral ads.
Today, Eppendorf uploaded this catchy tune, which is meant to promote their lab automation equipment, to YouTube.
In the film, a dorky boy band tries to woo a female lab technician into using their favorite product, an epMotion system that can handle the meticulous task of pipetting.
Many biologists, including myself, love geeky humor. So more of these innovative advertisements should be on the way. Hopefully, some of them will break free from the music video format and make comedic webisodes. Although, I would love to see a full-length Nanodrop it Like It’s Hot song — set to the Snoop Dogg classic.
